Following on from my recent win in the Institute of Certified NZ Bookkeepers annual awards, I thought that I would share with you a snippet of what this means to be sustainable to me in my business.
I have changed all light bulbs in the office and now the house to LED and also encouraged clients to do the same, with one who has a large workshop and warehouse doing so. Not only do LED bulbs use less electricity than traditional incandescent bulbs, but they also last approximately 15 times longer.
We have a creek on our property boundary and we are regenerating this and along with the normal planting, I am now purchasing plants for a patch behind my office for every ream of paper I use and taken it further with each pack of ink cartridges also. It is a project I am loving. We live on a rural property so are planting out natives and I love plants so it is easy for me.
I am looking to extend to asking clients to advise when they use a ream and plant a plant or creeper each time also so they are aware of how much they use. just starting a database now. So, to my valued clients, stand by as I will be contacting you................
I will be letting you know the rest of what sustainability means to me in my business next week in part 2 so look out for this.
